Mona is a native of Copenhagen, Denmark and in 2005 became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. Trained in classical ballet, Fitness, Stott Pilates and Yoga, Mona has always found the body fascinating, not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually.
Her twenty plus years as a teacher of Yoga, and a therapist of Body Work, Massage, Reflexology and Reiki Healing have given her a profound insight into the mind/body connection. It is Mona's goal to inspire her students to find their inner being of strength, peace and compassion, thus allowing the student to water their own seed towards self realization.
Mona is first and foremost trained in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, and has her focus on Pranayama, Meditation and Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga, which means "breath synchronized movements." Mona Therese's Journeys to India and to Thich Nhat Hanh's Plum Village Monastery in France, and through workshops and seminars received from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, have inspired her to maintain true to the traditions on the path of Yoga. Mona's teaching is influenced by her practice with Lino Miele, Gwendoline Hunt, Swami Shankarananda ... and different Yoga styles, which are Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Sivananda and Kriya Yoga.
Mona has been instrumental in the guidance and teaching of international celebrities including heads of state, movie stars, and leaders in the medical field in the art of Yoga, Pilates and Reiki Healing, and continues to integrate Eastern and Western philosophies and traditions, respectively.
Mona Therese Winston teaches at the Ashland Yoga Center, in Ashland, Oregon; Rasa Yoga Center, both in Ashland & Medford, Oregon; and at the Shasta Yoga Center, in Mount Shasta, California and is available for private instruction. Mona Therese has taught nationally and internationally throughout her life, and for the last three years has been a teacher on the Vajra Pani Yoga Teachers Training, in Mt. Shasta, California.
